The most preferred route of administration is intravenous either by injections or by infusions. Oral forms are common as well.
The drug is also approved to be given as an intra-muscular injection in the abdominal wall or as intrapleural injection in to the lining of the lung. When administered in the form of tablets, the drug needs to be taken with food and not to be crushed. The drug could cause infertility in children at later age and is strictly not recommended during pregnancy and while nursing the baby.
